THE ISSUES AT HAND

Carolina Beach is a true paradise, but paradise means something different to each of us. For me, it’s the place that holds a special spot in my heart — where my children and grandchildren gather, and where memories are made. At the same time, living in paradise comes with challenges that we must face together.

That’s why I’m running: to help protect what makes Carolina Beach so special, while also working toward solutions that keep our community strong, welcoming, and sustainable. My commitment is to ensure Carolina Beach continues to be a place we’re all proud to call home, for generations to come.

Fiscal Responsibility

STRONG COMMUNITIES ARE BUILT on sound financial decisions. I believe every tax dollar should be spent wisely and transparently, with a clear focus on meeting the needs of our town today while preparing for tomorrow.

Our council has made great strides in identifying priorities and creating a strategic plan, and I am committed to building on that progress. As we move forward with important infrastructure improvements — some of which require borrowing and careful budgeting — I will advocate for fiscal discipline, transparency, and accountability at every step.

My goal is simple: to ensure Carolina Beach grows responsibly, protects its financial health, and delivers real value to the people who call it home.

Infrastructure

I AM GENUINELY PASSIONATE ABOUT this matter, as it impacts so many in our community. Our current council and town staff have done an excellent job outlining a plan to address infrastructure, which has been a long-standing concern. We must also address challenges like flooding on the North End and adopt effective, fiscally responsible practices to help mitigate these issues.

It’s important to recognize that infrastructure and fiscal responsibility go hand in hand. While significant progress has been made, we still need to closely review the budget to ensure that urgent needs are prioritized and that our resources are used where they will have the greatest impact.

These decisions are never easy, but they are critical to the future of Carolina Beach. My commitment is to approach them with openness, honesty, and transparency — always keeping the well-being of our community at the center of every choice.

The Future of CB

CAROLINA BEACH IS MORE THAN just a vacation spot — it’s a hidden gem, a family-friendly destination, and a close-knit community. Tourism is the heartbeat of our town, drawing visitors who fall in love with its beauty and often choose to invest or make it their home.

To protect and strengthen that reputation, we must keep moving forward. That means investing in infrastructure, enhancing the Boardwalk area that brings so many visitors, and supporting our local businesses.

Some decisions may not always be easy or popular, but they must always be made with one goal in mind: doing what is best for the future of Carolina Beach.

Parking

PARKING IS ONE OF THE CONCERNS I hear most often from residents and visitors. The town’s decision to acquire the land surrounding the boardwalk district — much of which was previously used as private parking — was a smart and strategic move. This shift reduces confusion about pricing and ownership while ensuring parking is managed as a public resource.

As we move forward, I believe it’s important that these lots be repaved and maintained so they reflect the pride we all have in our community. Well-kept, clearly designated town-owned parking not only improves the visitor experience but also supports our local businesses and strengthens the image of Carolina Beach as a welcoming destination.
